It will be almost a year soon since I joined PanScience Innovations, and looking back, it feels like I’ve grown alongside the organization. When I first stepped into PSI, I joined as a Human Resource Associate with a simple, clear role: recruitment and onboarding. My days were filled with sourcing profiles, scheduling interviews, and helping new joiners settle in.
But PSI is not the kind of place where you stay in one box for long. Within the first few months, I found myself stepping into new responsibilities. Beyond recruitment, I started managing onboarding end to end, taking care of the employee life cycle, maintaining databases, and following up on documents. Soon after, I was also managing payroll, leaves, attendance, and compliance. It felt like every time I got comfortable, there was something new to take on. And I really enjoyed that.
Over time, my role evolved into HR and Operations. Today, I continue to manage the HR side, ensuring team well-being, checking in regularly through pulse checks, and making sure no one feels overworked or unheard. At the same time, I also coordinate with our legal and accounts teams, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, to ensure everything moves smoothly behind the scenes.
One thing I’ve truly appreciated at PSI is how organically things grow. I never really proposed a big initiative, but I’ve seen small ideas slowly become part of how we work. For instance, we now do pulse checks regularly to understand team morale and workload. It helps bridge any gaps in communication and keeps the culture transparent and people-centric.
There have definitely been challenges. At times, I felt unsure if I was growing or simply juggling too much. There were moments when I needed support but didn’t always have someone to guide me. But I learned something important here: discomfort often means growth. The first time you do something, it feels tough. The second time, you feel more prepared. And eventually, it becomes a part of you.
PSI gives you that space to figure things out. It is fast paced and high on ownership, but also full of learning. I’ve learned to trust my instincts, take initiative, and manage things that I never thought I would be able to handle when I first joined.
To anyone new joining PSI, I’d say come with an open mind. Things move fast and responsibilities evolve quickly, but that is where the magic happens. Be ready to take charge, and you will be surprised at how much you will grow in just a few months.
If I look back and ask myself what I’m proud of, it’s not a big achievement. It’s the quiet, steady progress. It’s the structure we’ve started to build, the processes that are shaping up, and the culture that’s becoming stronger. I’m proud to have played a part in all of that.
This journey has been intense, rewarding, and full of learning. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
