Beyond the Code: A Journey of Learning and Growth at PanScience

Kinjal Gupta | Software Engineer I
Beyond the Code: A Journey of Learning and Growth at PanScience

Every professional journey has a starting point, but sometimes, the experiences along the way shape you in ways you never expected.

My journey with 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 began during my final year at the 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄, when the organisation visited our campus with an internship opportunity. I joined as an intern in January 2025 and, after completing my internship in June, transitioned into a full-time role as a 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗜 in July.

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲

At PanScience, being a software engineer means much more than writing code. It involves understanding client requirements, designing solutions, developing applications and taking them through deployment.

One of my most memorable experiences was my first project as an intern, which involved working with 𝗞𝗮𝗳𝗸𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁. Getting hands-on experience with these technologies so early in my career was both challenging and exciting. It showed me how much there was to explore beyond conventional learning paths.

Since then, working on different client projects has introduced me to new tools, technologies and cloud platforms like 𝗔𝗪𝗦, giving me the opportunity to learn through practical experience.

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

One thing I particularly appreciate about PanScience is the pace at which things move. Decisions happen quickly, there is room to experiment, and developers get opportunities to work directly on real projects.

Of course, this pace comes with its challenges. Managing client calls, development work and multiple responsibilities simultaneously can sometimes get hectic. However, having colleagues and managers who are approachable and willing to guide you makes the experience easier to navigate.

If I had to describe PanScience in two words, I would call it a 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲. Every day brings something different, and you often find yourself learning and handling multiple things at once.

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿

Perhaps the biggest change I have experienced since joining PanScience is in the way I approach learning.

During college, I generally followed a structured path, studying what others around me were learning, whether it was DSA, databases or full-stack development.

Working here changed that perspective. I began exploring technologies beyond what I was already familiar with and became more curious about emerging tools and possibilities. Today, whenever I come across something new, my instinct is to explore it rather than limit myself to a predefined learning path.

𝗔 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝘁

For anyone looking to join PanScience, my advice would be

If you genuinely want to learn, experiment and build your capabilities, the opportunities are there. You just need to be willing to step outside your comfort zone.

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱

As I look ahead, I want to continue exploring emerging technologies, experimenting with new tools and building projects that help me understand their real-world applications.

My biggest takeaway from this journey has been that growth doesn't always follow a fixed path. Sometimes, it comes from exploring the unfamiliar, embracing challenges and staying curious.

And that is what makes the journey at PanScience 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴.
