Unlocking New Capabilities Through Continuous Learning at PanScience Innovations

Suryanshu Singh | Mobile App Developer

I often look back at the moment everything quietly fell into place. My journey to PanScience Innovations (PSI) wasn’t a straight line. It was a series of open doors that I hadn’t originally planned on walking through.

It began in January 2024 at RoadVision, a PSI portfolio venture, where I started as a Flutter developer intern. I was in my final year of college, hungry to build something I could actually hold in my hands. I spent nine months there, learning what it feels like to turn an abstract idea into software that runs on a real device. When college ended, a simple conversation with Hardik Sir, the CEO of RoadVision, turned into a referral, which led to an interview with Dheerendra Sir.

Suddenly, I was stepping into PanScience Innovations. It felt surreal how seamlessly the transition unfolded, almost like one door opening exactly as the previous one closed.

My path to mobile development wasn’t instant. In my third year of college, I was a wanderer, exploring web development, blockchain, and everything in between. But the moment I built my first mobile app and saw it running on my own phone, something clicked.

There is a strange, addictive thrill in sending an app to friends and watching their reactions. I started with Java, but the constraints of maintaining separate codebases for Android and iOS pushed me to find a better way. That’s when I found Flutter: one codebase, two platforms, and a surprisingly smooth experience. By 2022, I was convinced this was the path I wanted to walk.

However, joining PSI completely reshaped my understanding of what being a developer means.

I still remember my first month. I was assigned to rebuild an app called Nora from scratch in Flutter due to security concerns with the old Kotlin version. Based on my previous experience, I spent the first two days designing the UI and set my own mental timeline: one week.

On day three, I casually mentioned this estimate. The response I got changed my career trajectory.

"We build like crazy here," Anshul Sir told me, handing me a two-day deadline.

I panicked. It felt impossible. But I pushed through, and to my own surprise, I presented a working demo within those two days. That moment shifted something inside me. It taught me that my “limit” was just a mental barrier, and I could actually sprint when the bar was set high.

Since that first sprint, I’ve worked on half a dozen major projects, including Nora, Sankalpam, Parcha PHR, the Continental Hospital App, and Opticall, along with several others that never hit the Play Store.

Each project brought a steep learning curve, but Sankalpam stands out. It required React Native, a framework I had zero experience with. Again, the mandate was the same: learn the codebase and deliver new features in two days.

It felt impossible, but that pressure pulled me so far out of my comfort zone that I ended up discovering a new language and a new level of confidence. PSI didn’t just give me tasks; it nudged me, and sometimes pushed me, into areas I never imagined I’d explore. I went from being a pure Flutter dev to rebuilding UIs in React, implementing RAG pipelines, and getting comfortable with backend and cloud concepts.

A major catalyst for this speed has been the adoption of AI tools like Cursor. Shifting from Android Studio to Cursor felt like discovering a superpower. Suddenly, “building an app in a day” wasn’t just a hyperbole; it became a lived reality.

But what keeps me going isn’t just the code or the velocity. It’s the people. The brainstorming sessions, the casual conversations, and the shared excitement when a feature finally works make the long hours worth it. Being surrounded by minds that challenge you is a rare privilege.

Looking ahead, I want to dive deeper into the backend, master AWS, and eventually become the kind of developer others look up to for guidance. But the biggest realization I carry today is simple: Growth only happens when you decide to step into the uncomfortable.

PSI taught me that, and I carry it with me every time I write a new line of code.

Recognition that Matters.
