My Journey at PanScience Innovations

Adarsh Singh | Business Development Intern

I remember my first interview call with Sneha. At that point, I didn’t know much about the company, but as I began researching, I realised PSI was doing something very different, its diverse presence in AI and Deeptech space drew me in instantly.

What truly excited me was the way PSI was applying AI across multiple domains. It felt like the perfect opportunity for growth, and on my first day, I remember being the first person to enter the office, nervous, but eager to learn. When I saw everyone around me, and suddenly realised that I am the youngest one in the room. It made me more nervous. But slowly, I settled in, and the experience has been incredible ever since.

As a Business Development Intern, my role is crucial at the very top of the chain: generating leads that eventually translate to sales and revenue. In the beginning, I was focused on research every single day without fully understanding the agenda, but my seniors always explained the process patiently. Over time, I realised that research forms the backbone of successful Business Development.

From not knowing how to scout leads to eventually bringing in names like Blinkit, Tech Mahindra, Siemens, Apollo, Netflix, IBM and Godrej Capital into our pipeline, it has been a big journey in just three months. Some of these leads moved on to demos, others converted to sales, and some fell through.

Since PSI runs ventures across multiple industries, my outreach had to adapt quickly. For OptiCall, I dove into the BPO space and focused my messages on customer satisfaction and CSAT metrics. For Indika AI, I had to understand data annotation and performance. For legal-tech ventures, I needed familiarity with compliance and contracts.

The key was twofold: strong research and personalisation. I made sure my outreach messages reflected the industry’s pain points and business language. If one approach didn’t work on a sample of 100 outreaches, I revised it and tried again. Sales is about constant learning and iteration. Sometimes out of 100 people, only 10 respond, and maybe one converts, but that’s the reality. You just keep knocking until doors open.

Of course, rejection is a big part of this journey. There are weeks when you work hard, send hundreds of messages, and don’t get a single meeting. That can feel disappointing, but I’ve learned to accept it as part of the game. Not every week is going to be rewarding, but if you stay consistent, the good weeks come. The important part is to give 100%, even if your chances are just 1%.

The most valuable lesson I have learned in these three months is simple: keep trying. Whether it’s finding the right client, improving outreach strategies, or handling rejection, persistence is everything. You may fail multiple times, but each attempt makes you better. You learn from mistakes, adapt, and keep moving.

If I had unlimited resources, my dream collaboration would be with Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase. As someone who follows finance closely, I find his journey extremely inspiring. His failures, comebacks, and leadership show the power of resilience. Working with someone like him would be a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience.

If I had to sum up my PSI journey in one word, it would be Learning. Every day here has taught me something new, about research, sales, people, markets, and most importantly, about myself. I entered PSI unsure if I could handle responsibility, but now I know I can not only take responsibility but also deliver results. This internship hasn’t just made me a better individual, it has given me confidence and shaped me into a more capable individual ready for bigger challenges ahead.

Recognition that Matters.
